Bath Abbey Tower

I am generally not one for tours, must less tours of churches, but Alixe recommended we take the Bath Abbey Tower tour, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Bath. The Abbey itself is gorgeous, with soaring ceiling and intricate stained glass windows. It's worth seeing whether or not you take the tour, but the Tower tour is the only way to experience the gorgeous view of Bath from the top. It's a total of only 212 steps, with a few stops along the way to break up the walk. Along the way, you get to learn all about church bells and Bath Abbey history, which is (surprisingly, I admit) quite interesting. Something I had never thought to think about before taking this tour: how church bell towers adapt to technological advances.
